Fish are making their way through. All Stripers this morning with no signs of Blues. Last trip was infested with Bluefish, fortunately this one was Bass only.

The past couple trips have produced an incredible amount of keeper Fluke. So many 19-21″ fish with a couple between 6-7lbs. The pics say it all.

After a late start, the 2013 Spring season proved to be another successful one. Both quality and quantity with fish up to 9.5lbs and limits on every trip. Its all ending in a flash but we have another season to look forward to, Striped Bass.

Bring on the 2013 season, let’s do it!!

Blackfish season is now open and it’s starting off with a bang. Had 3 trips this past week and each one was better then the previous. Both quality and quantity with full boat limits up to 8.5lbs.

Let the games begin!

Pulaski PB Coho Salmon

The above picture really does tell it all. It’s a wall hanging Coho Salmon that I’ve been after for a while. In a few months he’ll be added to the Brown and Steelhead that have come out of the Salmon River in Pulaski NY. The fishing up there is absolutely incredible.

In a nutshell, fished 2 days and landed more Salmon then I ever had in the past dozen years I’ve been fishing up there. It’s a special river I’d suggest everyone to try at least once in their days as a “Fisherman.”

First Salmon trip to Pulaski this Fall (9-5-12)

It’s still a little early to head up north for the Salmon run but the itch forced me to give it a shot. Myself and my 2 Pulaski fishing partners headed up after hearing that it was down pouring all day. We figured with the slight water increase combined with the 2 days of rain and the steady night time temp drops, there would be some type of push. Well, we definitely weren’t wrong and the gamble paid off.

We fished from daybreak until about 10am both Wednesday and Thursday and landed 10 Kings between the 3 of us. By no means was there a run, but there was most definitely enough fish to keep us busy. Day 1 we landed 4 and the following morning we chipped the rust off and landed 6. All solid Kings with no other species at all in sight. We expected a Coho or 2 to be landed but it was all Kings on this trip.

When I think of Pulaski I think of a circus on the water but also a ton of fish in the river to keep mostly everyone busy. This trip was much different, there was barely anyone on the water at each hole we fished. In the end, it’s all relative. Not a lot of fisherman with not a lot of fish roughly equates to a lot of fisherman with a lot of fish. Trust me, I’d much rather fish in the conditions we had on this trip. Our gamble paid off in many ways.

Summer Striped Bass fishing is in full swing (8-1-12)

The Striped Bass fishing is staying strong through these warm Summer days. Here’s a few snapshots from my last trip, boated 5 and lost at least another 5. Keeping the streak alive!!

The Summer Striped Bass fishing has been so good that we honestly havent had any time to target any other species. Had a couple trips this past week and all fares were successfully rewarded with a limit. Havent been seeing many larger Cows but have been boating plenty of table sized 33-38″ fish. Hopefully this Summer bite continues.
